Take Part

Welcome to the Your Human Document: Capturing Communities site – the place to get involved in the Mead Gallery‘s exhibition The Human Document: The Photography of Persuasion from 1930s America to Present Day.

There are two ways to take part:

1. pictures speak a thousand words

Photographs ‘speak’ to people in lots of different ways – and we are interested in what the photographs on this website mean to you. They can evoke memories, feelings or simply leave an impression. We want to know which image leaves a lasting impact, and in return you could be in with a chance of winning a framed photograph from the exhibition.

To take part, simply explore the 100 photographs on this site and leave a comment below the ones that resonate with you. The Mead Gallery Curators will choose their two favourite responses and the winners will each be presented with a framed photograph from the exhibition mid-December 2016.

2. Create your own photograph(s)

Using the 100 photographs on this site as inspiration, create your own photograph (full details below). Entries will feature in the Mead Gallery during the exhibition run and in the Your Gallery Section of this website. The Mead Gallery Curators will choose their three favourite entries and the winners will each be presented with a framed photograph from the exhibition mid-December 2016.
